We are in Lithuania, and boy, are we jetlagged.  Up at 2 a.m. and not able to go back to sleep, either of us.  You would think that after 24 hours of traveling, one could maybe sleep 8 or 10 hours, but apparently not.  Mom decreed that no pictures would be taken of her in her travelogged state, so here we are with the arrivals sign.

Vilnius airport is offline for a month or two while they work on it, so flights are landing in the smaller city of Kaunas about an hour away.  Feels like landing in Spokane.  Actually, we were struck by how from the air, Lithuania resembles the rural Texas landscape we just left.  Way fewer freeways, though.

Can report positively on the food already.  Had a nice dinner of lašišos didkepsnis (baked salmon in pastry with roe and cream sauce + veggies).   I may start a food page.  Is it gauche to post pictures of your meals?  Yes.  But in the interest of cultural exploration, I may do it anyway.
