Back on the blog after a full night’s sleep and I think I’m now 85% in the right time zone. Mood mostly better.
Kaunas was nice to see. Mom was surprised by all the blondes here, as her folks all had dark hair.
The hotel breakfast had a lovely spread, including the dish mom grew up eating with her Lithuanian relations — marinuota silkė or pickled herring. Of course, her folks had it on crackers as an hors d’oeuvre with a Manhattan, not for breakfast. But it works either way.
Did a bit of walking around town and took the Basic Bitch Bus Tour. It schlepped our basic bitch behinds around town and over to a monastery. Mom was tickled that the monks had put up a sign forbidding women to ever enter, but then later, the Sisters of St. Casimir got to run the place, so take that, boys! Hoping to find better tour options in Vilnius.
Here’s some pics from the Basic Bitch Tour and my morning walkabout:

I don’t know what language that is, Chris, (and neither does google translate), but I’m pretty sure you said something dirty. What are the odds?
